We decided to plan one more four-wheeling trip for the summer. Wheelers invited us to spend Saturday in Copper Basin. Copper Basin is located past Mackay and toward Sun Valley, so we had a little drive to get there but with wonderful friends to visit with the time passed quickly. It was a cool day but the sun was shining. We unloaded and road the dirt roads for a while until we came to a trail that is supposed to loop by 5 little lakes. It was narrow at times and had a few fun switch-backs to navigate, but all in all I kept pace with the others. The scenery was gorgeous and the higher we climbed the more change we found in the weather. Eventually we were in about 6 inches of snow. Unfortunately the broken trail ended and we didn’t get to see all 5 lakes, but that will just give us a good reason to go back earlier in the season next year.
