New Homes

The summer started off with lots of cleaning, painting and moving.  Rod and Stephanie bought a new home in Summit Park which is about three miles from our house.  We hated to seem them go, but were excited for them to have a place of their own.  It is a really cute home. We threatened to keep Maya with us, but in the end they stole her away from us.  We still show up on their doorstep to play for a little while and they are good to stop by for visits often.

A couple weeks later Reed also found a home in Summit Park that he liked.  He moved in at the end of June about four blocks from Rod.  That makes it convenient to stop and check on both of them when we are in the neighborhood.  With his move went Doug’s new little black friend, Sky, Reed’s dog.  While Grandma goes to visit Maya, Grandpa has to stop and play with Sky.

Message Me

A couple weeks ago I rode with Doug to the farm for a couple hours.  When we returned home there was a cute message on the dry erase board.

We couldn’t help but smile and head right over to their new home for a visit.

Of course I left it on the board!

A few days later, we came home to another message next to it… Love you Reed!

"If I had known how wonderful it would be to have grandchildren, I'd have had them first."

Daren and Marlene brought little Emma for a visit.  It was sweet to have both granddaughters here.  Maya and Emma are so fun as they smile, play, and make faces.  We can never get enough of being with them.  They are precious little darlings.  We are so proud of the daddies our sons have become.

Empty Nest

We are finally experiencing the days of being empty-nesters.  We have enjoyed having Rod, Steph and Maya with us for the past two years, but they are moving into their own home.  When they bought their house, I told them they were going to miss Maya, but they could visit her anytime they wanted.  That didn’t happen and they took her with them.  We are excited for this time in their life for them.

Reed has also bought a new home just a few blocks from them in Summit Park.  At least they are close by and we can make visits often.

To celebrate Doug and I made them a housewarming gift.  We hope it will decorate their home and remind them of family.
