RZR Riding

March 20, 2015

Reed and Christina gave Doug a GPS for his birthday.  We went for a ride to Taylor Mountain and the Wolverine before going to the farm one afternoon.  Our little ride ended up being about 4 hours long but we were able to witness a beautiful Idaho sunset.

Jeff and Debbie Wheeler came to the farm and we went on a ride to Rash Canyon and then Doug has been dying to try June Creek Road again since he couldn’t make it up the hill a month ago.  We had a beautiful Saturday afternoon and it was fun to share it with great friends.

Easter News

The weather has been extremely unseasonal and warm, so we decided to pull the trailer to the farm and camp for Easter.  We went for a RZR ride on Saturday to Fall Creek and then Palisades to see the Dennings. Then we found a little snow and a steep hill up June Creek Road.  We turned around and will try that again later.

It was also conference weekend and IMG_1194[1]we bought a satellite dish so we could watch at the farm.

Rod, Steph, Scott, Taylor and the grandparents came for Sunday dinner.  Maya had her own little Easter egg hunt.  IMG_1209[1]IMG_1210[1]IMG_1211[1]IMG_1212[1]

IMG_1213[1]We passed sweet little Lia around.

Rod and Steph learned to play Rook from the best, the grandpas and grandmas.

Everyone enjoyed the day in the new trailer and we seemed to have plenty of room.

Spring Break with Dad and Mom

For Spring Break I took Mom and Dad to Cedar City to see Dad’s sister Anna.  They are the only two living siblings and she just celebrated her 94 birthday in IMG_1172January.  My daughter-in-law, Christina, went with us to visit her grandma who also lives in Cedar City.  It was a fun time of visiting.

IMG_1183My cousin, Sandy, took us material shopping and we learned a new technique called “Quiltsmart” to make a patchwork bag.

I also made the little girls a pillowcase for Easter.01d6411de3877114780d30c25208539a6ba5c11057

On the way home we stopped at Cove Fort to see where Mom and Dad spent their mission in 1998.  A few things had changed and it was fun for them to reminisce.IMG_1187[1]

Princess Lia

Our fourth angel granddaughter was born March 15, 2015.  Her name is Lia Paige Rockwood and she weighed 7 lb. 15 oz. and was 21 3/4 inches long.  We were instantly in love with her sweetness and SHE HAS HAIR.  She is a blonde but there are white locks.  We couldn’t be prouder of her mom and dad too.  Life just gets better and better!

Camper Trip 2015

We were lucky to get to go on a week long camper trip with the Denning bunch again this year. IMG_1086We got to try out our new trailer.

The weather started out a little rough with snow in Cedar City IMG_1089and rain in Mesquite, so we went for a drive to see Toacaun in St. George.  It is an outdoor theater and we saw the animals too.

but it warmed up and we were able to ride in Logandale a couple days and then enjoy a boat ride at Willow Bay up the Colorado River to see the Hoover Dam Bridge.

The best part is always spending time with friends.  This year there were five other couples, Jody and Donna Denning, Mike and Lisa Denning, Dan (Booner) and Lisa Denning, John and Shauna Holst, and Brad and Stephanie Streeper.  We missed having Art and Joyce along.

A New Home Away From Home

What started out as a fun excursion to walk through trailers at the RV show, turned into a big purchase.  Doug and I decided to just go for a look, since I love to see all of the floor plans and colors of the new fifth wheel trailers.  I saw one that I really liked and we made and offer thinking that they wouldn’t accept it.  Well, they did and we are the proud owners of a new home away from home.  It is a Grand Design Solitude and really nice and I am excited for camping season.  IMG_1086

While we were at the show, I took a turn in the money machine.  It was harder than I thought, but I ended up with $30 for dinner.

Below is a quick look inside. Some of the selling points were the huge windows, a spacious pantry, and full size refrigerator.  It will be wonderful!
